Restricted free agent Cam Thomas is signing a one-year, $6 million qualifying offer to return to the Brooklyn Nets, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
After failing to agree on a long-term contract with the Nets, Thomas accepted the qualifying offer. The deal gives him a no-trade clause and positions him for unrestricted free agency next summer.
Thomas averaged 24.0 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.3 rebounds last season, though hamstring injuries sidelined him for all but 25 games — the first major setback of his career.
Over the past two seasons, Thomas has averaged 22.9 points per game after averaging just 9.5 points across his first two. His nine 40-point games are the fourth most in franchise history behind Vince Carter, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
